Alex Laidlaw Housing Co-operative Occupancy By-Law number 5 was passed by the board of directors at a meeting held on 25th of April 1998 and confirmed by two-thirds vote at a membership meeting.

This By-law contains the rules under which the Alex Laidlaw Housing Co-operative Inc. (ALHC) provides housing for its members, and the rights and obligations of both the co-op and its members. Organizational By-Law

The Organizational By-Law that contains the rules for the organization of the Alex Laidlaw housing Co-operative Inc. was passed by the board of directors on the 26th of June, 2001 and confirmed by the members on the 26th day of June, 2001.

This By-law contains the rules under which the Alex Laidlaw Housing Co-operative Inc. (the Co-op) is organized. The Co-operative Corporations Act of Ontario (the Act) regulates the Co-op. Certain parts of the Act contain rules which are not included in this By-law. For the convenience of members, however, some important sections of the Act have been added as Schedules to this By-law. Members should refer to them when questions come up.
